What have you lost that you wish you still had?

My mom. She passed away in June of 2005. My third baby was born just 5 months after she passed away. I think she was the happiest Grandma on Earth. She never put pressure on us to have kids, but when we finally did I know she was elated. I was her only child and therefore, my two children were her only grandchildren. She loved them to bits. She was so active and interested in their lives. Everyday I see my children through her eyes and I can almost hear her laughter at the cute and funny things they do. I carry her with me in my heart, but I miss her more than words can describe.

Wow - thank you all for your kind and loving comments. :-) I have said it before and I will happily say it again: I am blessed to have met each one of you through Vox. We have a special thing goin' on here, ya know?!
It is always exciting and nice to make the [lig] or [cig] or [eig] and so on (I agree with Steve, life was simpler with just [tig]!!! )
To have this particular post highlighted, however, means the world to me. It made me feel that my mom was perhaps immortalized a bit today. She is no longer here, but a part of her story and essence is being commmunicated to people that never had the opportunity to meet her. That is pretty awesome.
Thank you, anonymous friend, for submitting this post to [lig] !!
